This collaboration aims to combine Infosys' capabilities in digital technology with Shell's expertise in Energy, along with a network of partners, to create a comprehensive offering for green data centers. The focus will be on leveraging Shell Immersion Cooling Fluid and Infosys Topaz, which is an AI-first set of services using generative AI technologies.
The aim is to address the environmental impact of data centers, as they are responsible for a significant portion of global electricity consumption and CO2 emissions.
Immersion cooling technology is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30% and energy footprint production by 48%. Infosys and Shell plan to test this technology in their data centers and then extend the offering to other customers worldwide.
Infosys is a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting. The IT giant's consolidated net profit rose 4.5% to Rs 6,215 crore on 2.8% increase in revenues to Rs 38,994 crore in Q2 FY24 over Q1 FY24.
Shares of Infosys fell 0.26% to Rs 1455.30 on 30 November 2023.
